Something that we didn't show you

Something that we didn't show you was this clip from Wim Wenders film Wings of Desire / Der Himmel uber Berlin which we talked about before presenting. It is shot inside Hans Scharoun's Library in Berlin and (in the film) there are a number of angels who can hear what people are thinking.....

It is an amazing building and a really democratic space. The film was made just before the Berlin wall came down so it reflects the latent potentialities of a city divided by cold war geopolitics. Another good film on this theme is The Lives of Others.
